So I found this old chest of drawers in the back of a thrift store.
They were so filthy it was impossible to tell what kind of wood they were made from.
I think they’re oak … golden oak possibly?
The Bakelite handles were hanging off so I replaced them with a double row of tiny brushed alumium micro-handles so as not to take away from the wood … and as with most of my furniture I mounted the drawers on wheels so I can move them around the house … can never quite make up my mind where I want things.
I’ve fallen in love with the Art Deco sweep of the curves.
Total restoration budget including purchase of drawers: $68.
